Your First Visit
Hanachi Orthodontics is a very warm and welcoming office. We have two conveniently located offices in Gastonia and Mooresville. In Gastonia we are located in the Garrison Professional Park across from the Schiele museum and in Mooresville we are located at the corner of Brawley School road and Williamson road. Realizing that your time is very valuable, our commitment is to always see you at your appointment time. We have even developed a reputation in the community as the office that’s “always on time.”
The reception desk is the first place you stop. Please sign in to let us know you are here! On entering our office, you will be warmly greeted by one of Dr. Hanachi’s friendly staff. If you are a new patient, welcoming information should have been mailed to you so that you may have the time to complete them. You also may click on the Patient Forms tab to print them out.
In order for Dr. Hanachi to make an accurate assessment of your orthodontic needs, a panoramic x-ray and full set of extra-oral and intra-oral pictures will also be obtained.
Dr. Hanachi’s comprehensive exam will allow him to answer all of your questions concerning orthodontic treatment. He will fully explain what the problems are, how we are going to correct them, and approximately how many months treatment should take. The new patient coordinator will then discuss different payment options as well as appointment policies. Working as a team, we assure you that your experience at Hanachi Orthodontics will be both a positive and enjoyable one.
An orthodontic assistant will then collect the remaining diagnostic records necessary to begin orthodontic treatment.
We have a comfortable waiting room for parents and siblings where you can enjoy Movies on DVD, and a variety of magazines. Our passion is creating beautiful smiles in a warm and friendly environment.

Office Policies
Payment & Office Policies
An investment in orthodontic treatment pays wonderful dividends your entire life by giving you the confidence of a beautiful smile. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s problem and you will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have different payment plans to suit different budgets, including an outside financing company which offers no-down-payment and low monthly payments with a small financing fee.
We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable for your family so that everyone can have that beautiful smile.
In an effort to keep orthodontics fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established financial policies:
- If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a 5% bookkeeping courtesy. (If you have insurance, we will offer to reduce your monthly payments by $20.00 until the total fee is paid in full with the help of your insurance.)
- To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
- For your convenience, monthly payments can be drafted from your Master Card or Visa.
- In cases of severe delinquency, treatment may be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance
If you have insurance, we will help you to determine your coverage. We would like to inform you that you have the option of being the recipient of the insurance benefit or assigning it to us. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filling your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
Appointment Policy
At Hanachi Orthodontics, our passion is creating beautiful smiles! We are also committed to seeing each patient at his or her appointed time, and completing your beautiful smile by the estimated completion date. To accomplish these objectives, it is imperative that our patients and their parents understand the manner in which we schedule your appointments.
We worked extremely hard to create a schedule that is fair to everyone and also satisfies regulations imposed by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazard Act). You may be surprised to discover that we have over 80 different “types” of appointments, which require differing time and equipment needs!
In our schedule, we have reserved before and after school/work times (“prime time”) for short appointments such as simple appliance checks and progress checks. (7:30–9:00 and 2:00–5:00). By doing this we can accommodate more families during this precious time. Longer appointments and repair appointments will be scheduled during the hours of 9:00 and 2:00. With your appointment frequency varying between 4–10 weeks, this arrangement usually results in patients having to visit our office only 2–3 times per year during school hours. We are happy to work around certain classes, lunch, sports, meetings, etc.
In case of emergency, please call first so that we may offer you a specific appointment time. If you drop by without an appointment, we may be out of the office, at lunch, or in a staff meeting and unable to handle your problem. An emergency consists of anything poking, scratching or cutting your cheeks or gums that you cannot take care of with wax. Please contact us if you have a loose bracket. We have created this schedule to be fair to everyone and we appreciate your help in working with the office coordinators.
We have e-mail reminders. Please keep in mind that if there is a power outage, or in case or computer failure, you may not receive a reminder. For this reason, it is important that you keep your appointment cards! If you should miss an appointment we will call to remind you to reschedule. Please remember that if you should miss or cancel an appointment during “prime time”, you may not be able to reschedule at that same time.
